Correns is an adventure playground for adults and children alike, with a variety of outdoor activities and pursuits to keep you entertained in and around our little village.
You can enjoy a number of walks and hike directly from the property, details of which can be found in our Welcome Guide or you can ask us anytime. There is also an excellent ‘Walking Guide in the Var’ which is available to purchase at most tourist offices. A good website for information on regional walks is www.france-randos.com, you simply enter your location and it will show you recommendations within that area.
The hills surrounding us and the Grand Bessillon mountain range, have marked bike trails, please ask Pat to advise the best routes to follow. For the more adventurous cyclists, we located very close to the inland section of the EuroVelo Route 8 The Mediterranean Route, which starts in Cadiz, Spain, meandering along the south coast of France until it turns inland passing by Correns and then returning to the coast at Nice and onwards to Italy, Greece, Cyprus and finishing in Izmir, Turkey.
K-Noe is based in Correns and operates the kayaking on the River Argens. The starting point is in the village centre on the riverside. Reservations can be made online or by telephone 06 85 73 38 07.
On the outskirts of the village is the internationally ranked climbing zone of Chateauvert/Vallon Sourn. Beautiful limestone formations with 200+ excellent single pitch routes with a wide range of grades from 3a up to 8b+. Popular for climbing all year, with southerly facing wall, climbing access direct from the road and off road parking nearby. The village has a tennis court which can be reserved at the Office of the Maire, telephone 04 94 37 21 95. We have rackets and balls for you to use.

Fishing options are plentiful along the banks of the river Argens (cat A) that flows through the centre of the village. Category B and night fishing at Lac de Carces (10 mins drive). The fishing season runs from March to September and anglers are required to purchase a licence, which you can buy at the tourist office in Correns or online Carte de Peche (multilingual). On the outskirts of the on the village and further up river is a stunning protected nature zone called the Vallon Sourn, with wonderful cliffs and coves. There are lovely bathing and picnic areas for you to enjoy and boardwalks have been created to guide you from the parking area, along the riverbank without disturbing nature and to respect the areas which are close off for regeneration. Dedicated parking is signposted. We are blessed to have the River Argens running through the centre of the village, where children and adults enjoy bathing in the summer.
Another great spot for children is La Chute Caramy in Carces, a waterfall and great swimming, there is also a family restaurant onsite.
